Job Description

  • Responsible for capacity planning, new technologies planning and integration

  • Development of new platforms, features and code

  • Oversee operations and maintenance of the KSC telecommunication systems and equipment for the analog, digital and VoIP infrastructures

  • Responsible for completing system analysis against the current system and network architecture to identify, recommend, plan and schedule system patching and upgrades

  • Must have knowledge of VoIP system architecture to monitor and troubleshoot the telecommunication infrastructure and make suggestions on ways to improve the systems for better efficiency

  • Support, configure, manage and maintain Cisco Call Manager, Cisco Emergency Responder, Cisco Presence and Unity Connection configurations

  • Must have working knowledge of a 911 system architecture including ACD group and 911 routing

  • Must have knowledge of System Admin, for Windows 7, 10 PC platform, Windows Server 2008 and 2012 R2 Enterprise Edition, and Linux

  • Must have knowledge of VMware 5.5 and above

  • Maintain databases that house customer configurations and information. Audit these databases on an annual basis to ensure accuracy of the information contained.

  • Responsible for planning and designing any new phone locations that includes requirements gathering, procurements, configurations and working deployments in conjunction with the VoIP telecom tech I.

  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures

  • Provide Tier II & III support; resolve incidents and work change tickets

  • Must be flexible in a fluid environment and able to handle last minute requirements and priority changes.

  • Must know how to support security patching all on equipment listed above.

  • Must have a strong understanding of telephony end devises, and full understanding of how to process moves, adds, and changes and wire backbone.

  • Organization, self-starter and have the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

  • Previous experience with leading a team and prioritization tasks/projects based on schedules and agreed to priorities

  • Ability to develop briefings and present them to all levels of contract management and the customer

  • Strong skill set using Microsoft Office products, especially Excel and Visio.

Required Education & Experience

  • Must have minimum of 2 years of experience with telephony system administration, configuration, implementation and troubleshooting

  • Must have working knowledge of networks, networking systems, video systems, phone systems and VoIP infrastructure/systems; will require cross training into all areas

  • Must be able to route circuits, trunks and channels to satisfy customer requirements

  • Must be familiar with modern TCP/IP networks with specific knowledge of VoIP QoS IP routing

  • Must have experience with Cisco Unified Communications Suite to include Call Manager 7.x and above, Cisco Emergency Responder and Cisco Unity Voicemail

  • Prefer BS degree, may substitute a high school diploma or high school equivalency with additional years of experience

  • Must have a valid driver’s license

  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 25lbs Must be able to obtain a public trust clearance.
