The Materials & Processes group is looking for candidates who have a background in nondestructive testing of composite and metallic structures. Responsibilities will include acting as responsible engineer for NDI specifications, assisting failure analysis and being the Engineering focal point for the development and implementation of NDI methods and requirements on advanced airframe programs.
Analyzes, researches, designs and develops materials and their related fabrication and application processes to develop and optimize materials for use in engineering design of and/or application in structures, systems and subsystems. Applies principles of chemistry, physics, and material behavior to develop metallic, non-metallic and composite material and processing specifications, fabrication and assembly processes. Develops, analyzes and applies material properties and design allowables, processing processes and quality engineering specifications. Material analyses may include failure analysis of components, systems and subsystems, life predictions, and definition and requirement specifications. May review and approve subcontractor material processing procedures.
Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with a minimum of 5 years’ experience directly related to Non-Destructive Testing/Inspection or Master’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with a minimum of 3 years' experience directly related to Non-Destructive Testing/Inspection.
Familiarity with aerospace composite & metallic materials.
Active Secret Clearance required.
Strong relationship with DoD customers involved in Program support for all phases of a program lifecycle; from early proposal through EMD, LRIP, FRP and sustainment
Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office software suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to collaborate in a team environment.
Ability to prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish the project result.
Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and/or accomplishing them simultaneously.
Ability to comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions.
