Alstom has an opening for a Systems Engineer focused on our ATP (Automatic Train Protection) system, in its Melbourne, FL location.

Essential Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Coordinate technical aspects and lead requisitions

  • Develop railroad track databases using proprietary software tools

  • Configure railroad signaling ATP products for each customer's needs

  • Perform communication (RF and wired) configurations and analysis

  • Work closely with Marketing Proposal Leaders to ensure customer requirements are evaluated and flowed down appropriately through System Functional Specifications and Interface Control Documents

  • Participate in the proposal process to insure that only sound technical solutions are offered to customers

  • Work closely with the commercial and technology teams to create system configurations differentiated in the market

  • Communicate technical concepts and logistics to customers on large projects

  • Coordinate and design project and system engineers during detailed design, start-up and warranty administration phases of project

  • Supervise activities such as field issues and failures Investigations, root causes analysis and implementation of corrective actions, lesson learned issues and consequently design standards update

  • Build solid relationships with key Customers and suppliers

Qualifications/ Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited college or university.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Systems Engineering role – including experience developing System Requirement Specifications, System Architecture Documents and System Design Documents, or a minimum of 7 years in a related discipline that would demonstrate an ability to successfully perform Systems Engineering responsibilities.
