Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Project Management 3 for Global Operations (OPM) for the Manned Aircraft Design Center of Excellence located in Melbourne, FL.
This is an individual contributor, non-manager, role with no direct reports.
In this role, the candidate will collaborate closely with the Tooling SMT and other key functional disciplines towards the goal of efficiently assessing and releasing engineering drawings in support of Production and Assembly of the Air Vehicle.
The candidate shall plan, prepare, issue and control production schedules and coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing and Supply Chain to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements. In addition, candidate shall negotiate engineering drawing release schedules and manage production change incorporation plans to effectively mitigate assembly disruption. The candidate shall advise management of the status of work in progress, material availability and potential production constraints to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided to support master production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements.
The candidate shall possess the ability to see assigned projects through the various stages of initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling, and closure. In addition, the candidate will regularly prepare and deliver briefs to stakeholders. Must be a self-starter and able to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast paced, highly technical work environment.
Bachelor’s Degree with 6 years project management or project scheduling work experience or Master’s Degree with 3 years project management or project scheduling work experience
An Active, In-Scope, DoD Secret Security Clearance that has been granted / renewed within the past 5 years
High level of proficiency using Microsoft Office suite of programs, including Microsoft Project
1 year of experience in manufacturing and assembly sequences
1 year of experience in configuration change management
Proficiency in database retrieval/usage
Ability to interpret technical drawings containing aircraft structure and electronics
Project Management Institute PMI Certification
Experience working on DOD aircraft development programs
Experience with equipment and systems integration into military and commercial aircraft
Excellent people skills
Excellent negotiation skills
Excellent written and oral skills
