Jacobs is seeking a Tactical Data Link (TDL) Manager that will be responsible for planning, designing, and maintaining a Joint Multi-TDL network (MTN) as a Joint Interface Control Officer (JICO) and Joint Track Data Coordinator.
This position is located in Avon Park, FL.
Operate and maintain Situational Awareness Data Link (SADL), Link-16, and Joint Range Extension Applications Protocol (JREAP) beyond line of sight data link networks; input scenarios to include threats, surveillance tracks, and other entities to support aircrew training; coordinate with 23 Wing JICO and local flying units in support of data link operations.
Perform communications security (COMSEC) Management as a COMSEC Responsible Officer (CRO) in order to load cryptographic fills into SADL and Link-16 terminals. Work will be performed at Avon Park Air Force Range located in Avon Park, Florida supporting the 598th Range Squadron. Daily SADL customers include Homestead ARB F-16s and Patrick AFB HH-60s and HC-130s.
BS degree from an accredited college or university and 5 - 10 years related experience.
Completion of the Joint Interoperability Division JICO (JT-301) Course and the Link 16 Unit Manager (JT-220) Course; no on the job training available.
5 years experience operating the Joint Range Extension (JRE) Tactical Integrated Gateway Radio (TIGR 7U) line of sight and beyond line of sight communications system that incorporates Link-16 data and voice, SATCOM, and Situational Awareness. Data Link (SADL).
Candidate must possess an active SECRET clearance at time of hire.
Must be willing to travel up to 20% of the time. Once per month 2-hour drive each way to MacDill AFB, FL. for COMSEC issue; attend professional technical working groups, i.e. JS/J-7 Worldwide Interoperability Working Group, JRE Users’ Conference, SADL Working Group, and others as required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent presentation and briefing skills to present status to senior leadership and staff.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Understanding of US Air Force air/ground doctrine and use of close air support (CAS) on the battlefield.
In addition to supporting the datalink systems, be able to safely and smartly drive a remote control target on the range for air-to-ground training.
Office setting that includes sedentary physical effort. However, may include lifting of weight up to thirty (30) pounds as necessary. Must be able to work well with co-workers and all levels of management. No hazards on job or unusual environmental conditions. Work site is located at Avon Park, Florida. Periodic travel may be required within the continental US.
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing, and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. Must be physically capable of climbing five flights of stairs in the control tower to access equipment.There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distance may be required.

Ability to operate office equipment such as personal computer, printer, copy machine, telephone, fax machine and other equipment including desk supplies and other work related tools as required.
Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Regular attendance of scheduled hours is extremely important, but not critical, except for deadlines and meetings. Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary to meet deadlines.During war-time, deployments, exercises, or similar national emergency or mission essential operational periods, individual may be required to remain at site for extended periods or work extended hours.

Must demonstrate professional behavior at all times when dealing with customers, management and co-workers. Must have clear, concise and accurate communications skills in English, both verbal and written. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk to employees or others. Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner. Independent personal transportation to work site is required. Travel to and from customer's locations may be required to support projects. This may involve airline travel. In some cases, accommodations can possibly be made for POV, if necessary. When operating any vehicle for work purposes, must wear seat belt and in addition, no cellular devices are to be used when vehicle is in motion.
