Wyndham Vacation Ownership (“WVO”) currently seeks a strategic, innovative Director of Human Resources responsible for supporting the administration of HR policies, procedures and practices.This position is responsible for proactively partnering and collaborating with leaders at all levels (SVP, VP, Directors, Managers and Supervisors) on the development and execution of strategies relating to organizational design, change management, leadership development, legal compliance, communication, employee relations and compensation.This position will ensure the execution of our HR strategies meet expectations relating to quality, delivery, timeliness and consistency. The position will also provide guidance and direction that support the achievement of our organizational goals and priorities.

This individual will be responsible for working with specified client groups totaling several hundred associates that range from associate band to executive management band. The Human Resources Director will direct, counsel and execute against the human resources strategic goals, including talent management.Significant project management responsibilities will include rollout/implementation and facilitation of company-wide programs that align with the strategic goals of our organization. The successful candidate will understand the necessity and value of building and maintaining effective working relationships with the client groups in order to drive organizational change and achieve sustained team effectiveness.

The successful candidate will also partner closely with the Staffing organization to facilitate recruitment, selection and promotional programs to ensure a high level of talent within the organization. This position will also partner with the Learning & Development team to design and drive a culture that values and promotes employee and team development, innovation, service and employee engagement. The Director will partner with business leaders to continue growing a talent pipeline that helps to deliver business results.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Interpret, design, advise, coach, and mediate on HR-related matters with employees and leadership.Demonstrated ability to consult with, manage and influence senior leadership to drive organizational change and make quality decisions on employment matters. Must be able to develop and maintain strong relationships at all levels.

  • Participate in various business leadership meetings to provide support and ensure appropriate goal alignment.Provide objective feedback to business initiatives and assist in the development of solutions that support the business objectives.

  • Support, coordinate or lead key management development and project initiatives that respond to current and projected organizational needs.

  • Actively partner with Corporate L&D and staffing to ensure appropriate curriculum is delivered to areas supported.Support the development and/or implementation of organization-wide projects and programs.

  • Oversee and effectively investigate, document and ensure appropriate action is taken in relation to Employee Relations issues.Proficiently address all harassment and discrimination cases in a timely manner and according to company, federal, state and local guidelines.

  • Interpret, administer and ensure compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws and company policies and procedures.Remain current as laws/policies change and adhere to documentation and retention measures to ensure compliance and reduce company exposure.



  • Four-year college degree with major or emphasis in Human Resources or related field preferred

Training requirements

  • Senior Professional Designation in Human Resources (SPHR) or Professional Designation in Human Resources (PHR) preferred

Knowledge and skills

  • Demonstrated ability to multi task and work under pressure.

  • Solid written, oral and non verbal communication skills

  • Knowledge of laws and regulations relating to HR, including EEO, HIPAA and FLSA

  • Ability to assess an existing practice, process and/or structure to determine if an efficiency could be garnered through change.

  • Strong Analytical Skills

  • Ability to effectively build meaningful relationships, demonstrate emotional intelligence and flex approach with various leaders

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to take initiative, set strategic priorities, and drive results.

  • Ability to design and deliver effective presentations

  • Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with emotional or confrontational circumstances and to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures

  • Solid interpersonal skills to include: ability to gain consensus among peers and subordinates, ability to disarm potentially volatile personnel situations, create team building environment.

Technical Skills

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft applications

  • Ability to design effective presentations

Job experience

  • Eight to ten years of progressively responsible, hands on HR experience in all HR functions (compensation, benefits, employee relations, performance management, leadership development, legislation compliance issues and HRIS).

  • Minimum 7 years experience working with and supporting senior management.

  • Demonstrated ability to consult with, manage and influence senior leadership to drive organizational change and make quality decisions on employment matters. Must be able to develop and maintain strong relationships at all levels.

  • Must have a proven track record of proactive strategic thinking; must be action oriented and able to make timely and quality decisions in a complex environment.

  • Experience supporting multiple operations with diverse leadership needs and styles

  • A demonstrated record of implementing customized solutions, interventions and strategies to improve organizational results is required. Very strong business acumen and a proven track record of setting and executing HR and business objectives preferred.

  • Project management experience

Unless there is a legal requirement, experience will be accepted for the education requirement.
