JOB SUMMARY : Responsible for the tactical direction and daily operation of the Parking and Transportation department, includes Toll Plazas, Parking Garages, Valet, Bus/Taxi Loop, Resort Bus Service, Waterway Yachts, Wheel Chair Rentals, Kennel Services and Event Parking. Directly oversees managers responsible for providing daily direction to supervisors, special assignment exempt (SAE) supervisors, hourly and non-exempt staff. Responsible for the strategic planning of Parking and Transportation initiatives for day-to-day operations and special events. Uses analytical skills to ensure that assigned areas are meeting departmental standards for guest and Team Member satisfaction. Requires strong executive presence with global and quick decision making abilities in addition to strong partnership skills with multiple departments.
Effective management for all operations within the Parking and Transportation Department – includes Toll Plazas, Parking Garages, Valet, Bus/Taxi Loop, Resort Bus Service, Waterway Yachts, Wheel Chair Rentals, Kennel Services and Event Parking. Responsible for all operational facets of the department to include collection and generation of significant revenue, financially incentivized sales programs and revenue generating upselling opportunities.
Strategic planning and development of policies and people to position Universal Orlando as an industry leader in the delivery of parking services, products, transportation services, facilities and equipment. Facilitation and management for all facets of the Mears guest transportation contract. Operational liaison to the City and Loews partnership for the planning and coordination of external roadway projects and traffic management.
Responsible for the design, execution and maintenance of internal controls to assure assets are maintained and safeguarded, financial information and reports are reliable and that the department complies with all applicable law, regulations, policies and procedures. Ownership and facility management of resort roadways, way-finding signage, guest garages, pedestrian walkways and conveyances.
Effects change, demonstrates flexibility and positive leadership designed to drive Team performance, supports a responsive service model and delivers exceptional ‘first and last’ guest service opportunities.
SCOPE: Direct oversight for two managers, two assistant managers and 14 supervisors responsible for delivering all guest parking and transportation services within the parking structures, valet, bus loop, resort waterway yacht and hotel roadway bus operations.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must be able to write, interpret and apply statutes of a complex nature involving Department of Transportation, State of Florida and Federal Motor Carrier regulations as well as Universal Orlando and departmental standard operational policies. Must possess excellent computer skills and be able to communicate clearly; verbal and written, as well as construct and effectively present information to Team Members and across several levels of management. Problem solving and analytical skills are necessary to deliver; superior guest service, defined goals and accountabilities as well as maintain outside vendor and third party relationships.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university required. Professional or industry certification or ability to obtain is desired.
EXPERIENCE: 7-10 years parking and/or transportation or related operational experience with at least 1 – 3 years in a senior management or leadership role required; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid Florida Driver License, Commercial Driver License (CDL) or ability to obtain with air brake and passenger endorsement is preferred.
