Family owned and operated roofing company is currently hiring a full charge bookkeeper. The position is full time and permanent. The company will provide benefits after a probationary period. The office hours are flexible but will be full time Monday through Friday. Starting pay is up to $65,000 per year depending on experience.

The ideal applicant will have experience performing bookkeeping duties for a roofing company or similar type construction business. This position is replacing the current bookkeeper who is retiring. The office is very quiet with a small administrative staff; owners, receptionist, office manager, warehouse manager, and permit clerk. You must be comfortable working in an office that is very casual and has heavy foot traffic throughout the day. Individuals must be friendly and able to manage distractions on a regular basis.

The bookkeeper is responsible for all accounting duties. You will review sales contracts submitted for approval by sales team. Ensure inventory is available, purchase inventory (with assistance from warehouse manager), create purchase orders, pay bills, create invoices and all aspects of AR and AP duties. You must have strong account receivable and payable skills. The bookkeeper is also responsible for negotiating vendor contracts, and managing financial agreements between company and vendors, financial company, etc. The bookkeeper is also responsible for payroll duties for W2 and 1099 staff; including commissions, deductions, garnishments, etc. Balance general ledger, monthly reporting, provide your input on budget forecasting to owner. Work with outside CPA for quarterly tax prep.


  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting & Finance

  • No less than 5 years of bookkeeping experience

  • Recent experience in relevant role

  • Advanced Excel (formulas)

  • Advanced QuickBooks

  • Excellent references from previous employer

  • Experience preparing POs, balancing GL, and payroll
