SAS Analyst


Wyndham Vacation Ownership is currently seeking a SAS Analyst in Orlando, Florida. This position will report directly to the Data and AnalyticsManagerand will provide analytical and operational support to achieve Marketing and Sales efficiencies. The SAS Analyst will be responsible for providing management with decision alternatives and trend analysis through the design, creation, modification and maintenance of monthly and ad-hoc reports using various data sources such as SAS, Oracle, Excel spreadsheets, relational databases and BI tools. Background in SAS programming is paramount to success in this role. The position requires at least 3 - 5 years experience in Business Analysis.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Create stored procedures, macros, and Base SAS code which are sufficiently flexible and robust so other teams within WVO can leverage in their forecasting and analysis efforts.

  • Develop/Maintain/Enhance existing and new reporting iniatives and models required by the business.

  • Meet with other departments and leaders to evaluate business needs and propose new reporting/analytical solutions.

  • Take ownership of all things related to Sales and Marketing, data support and migrate reporting and analysis to SAS.

  • Improve the process flows and streamline data feeds to optimize efficiencies across the organization.



  • BS Degree in a business or mathematics discipline.

Training requirements

  • 3 - 5 years using SAS in an analytical environment to drive business decisions.

  • 3 years experience extracting data from multiple source systems and translating this data into meaningful analyses, reports and recommendations.

  • 3 years experience in data manipulation using querying tools such as SAS, Oracle SQL\

  • Plus, SQL Navigator, Toad.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of tools that support the reporting, analysis and validation processes.

  • Perform data cleansing and data transformation activities using various tools.

  • Be able to source data from disparate systems and link/match/aggregate information accordingly.

  • Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.

  • Must be able to manage multiple/changing priorities and deadlines.

  • Shows initiative in job performance, including anticipating what needs to be done before it becomes a necessity.

  • Maintains composure and objectivity under pressure. Works well in stressful situations.

  • Flexibility and Ability to reprioritize based on business direction as needed.

Technical Skills

  • Experience using SAS for reporting and data manipulation; PROC SQL, DATA Step, SAS Macros, PROC Report, ODS Excel, Stored Procedures

  • Experience with relational databases.

  • Experience developing reports and making recommendations, using BI software such as SAS, OBIEE, Business Objects, etc.

  • Experience extracting and maintaining data from multiple source systems & Excel files and translating this data into cleansed SAS data to be used for meaningful analyses, reports and recommendations.

  • Data manipulation using SQL querying tools such as SAS, Oracle SQL\

  • Plus, SQL Navigator, Toad

  • Experience working with Compensation and Incentive Programs highly desired.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products; Microsoft Excel & Access skills highly desired.

  • Experience in a BI environment.

Job experience

  • 5 years of experience as Sales & Marketing Analyst, preferably using SAS.

Unless there is a legal requirement, experience will be accepted for the education requirement.
