Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly motivated SUE Tech III for immediate employment in the Orlando, FL office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Actively investigates the presence of utilities (“One-Call” tickets, surface evidence, visible utility features)

  • Selects and uses appropriate single and/or multi-frequency equipment, electromagnetic and geophysical, to designate existing toneable and non-toneable underground utilities

  • Operates vacuum excavation equipment. Performs basic vehicle and equipment maintenance

  • Performs MOT and related duties, as directed

  • Coordinates and supervises survey of the utility information

  • Keeps utility records

  • Supervises and trains of junior crew members

  • Follows all applicable safety procedures

Minimum Requirements

  • High School diploma

  • 5+ years of experience in the SUE field, with both Q-L B and Q-L A

  • Good reading, writing and communication skills

  • Ability to obtain DOT medical card

  • Basic computer skills

  • Lift, operate and carry up to 60 lbs. of heavy equipment

  • Ability to work outside in all-weather conditions and walk for a long period of times

  • Available for occasionally travel out of town and work overtime

  • Strong belief in safety practices

  • Knowledge of ASCE 38-02 SUE standards

  • Ability to read and understand utility records, as-built, green-line and other record drawings

  • Ability to perform basic field measurements

  • Must possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic AutoCAD skills

  • Ability to quickly understand new technologies and learn new software

  • Field survey experience
