Our Opportunity:

The Orlando Corporate Actions team is responsible for the set up and processing of mandatory and voluntary reorganizations, partial calls, full calls, redemptions, bankruptcies, and class actions for Brokerage Operations. Corporate Actions is dedicated to leading a culture that delivers accurate and timely processing that creates a premier client experience, while providing a controlled and disciplined environment allowing our employees to feel valued and engaged.

What you’ll do:

The manager is responsible for leading a team of approximately 8 people, supervising work, training the group, developing individuals, while maintaining employee engagement. In this role you will be responsible for risk mitigation for several complex areas and reconciliation of both internal and Schwab global accounts. Relationship building is important among Corporate Actions management, internal business partners, and external vendors.

Managers in the Corporate Actions are assigned responsibility for some department initiatives. It is important to have appropriate planning, training, and communication while meeting project deadlines. Accountability is key for recognizing potential risk issues associated with processing corporate action events; including analysis of complex offer terms, short deadlines, stock record review, evaluation of impact to client assets, evaluation of exposure to the firm, and is a voice to management in escalating critical items.

What you have:

  • 5 or more years' experience in the Financial Services Industry

  • Proven ability to effectively manage an engaged team

  • Experience with supervisory procedures, regulatory requirements and audit requirements

  • The ability to ensure important information from management is shared with direct reports and others as appropriate in the organizational unit

  • Willingness to accept ownership for the leadership and effectiveness of the organization

  • The ability to look for ways to make a difference

  • Outstanding time management skills and ability to work in a high risk environment

  • Compassion to work cooperatively with others to produce innovative solutions

  • Initiative to seek out and build relationships with others who can provide information, intelligence, career support, potential business as well as other forms of support

  • The ability to accurately anticipate the implications of events or decisions for various stakeholders in the organization and plan strategy accordingly

  • Insight to identify and propose solutions that benefit all parties involved in a situation

  • Proven ability to influence people and champion firm and department initiatives that influence the team to embrace changes and successfully achieve common goals

  • Corporate Actions' experience preferred

  • FINRA Series 7, 63 and 9/10 licenses preferred or a condition of employment will be considered for highly qualified applicants
