Customer Service Representative
Starting pay rate: $15/hour
Customer Service Representatives are responsible for ensuring that fiduciary accounts administered by Company are in compliance with the standards set forth by the Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) Statute and applicable regulations
Responsible for communicating with account holders, doctors, pharmacies and ancillary supply vendors
attorneys, and insurance companies in a fashion that demonstrates competence in MSP rules.
Answer inquiries from and initiate contact with these parties with high frequency, and perform a variety of tasks, which require strong customer service, medical claims, and clerical skills.
The Customer Service Representative must:
Possess 3-5 years of customer service experience, including maintaining a high call volume while demonstrating proper phone skills and etiquette.
Be a highly self-motivated, task-oriented individual who-s not adverse to a high workload, is quick to respond to inquiries, and is detail-oriented.
Be able to demonstrate excellent vocal and written communications skills, including proper grammar and composition.
Possess proficient time management skills, able to maintain their workload without distraction.
Be compassionate, patient and empathetic, as a large volume of customer contact will be with catastrophically injured beneficiaries.
Be able to grasp and learn abstract concepts, and communicate them effectively.
Be proficient in the use of common office technology, including software such Microsoft Office Suite.
Demonstrate professionalism in their personal work ethic and interaction with other team members and with clients.
Be able to learn. For those unfamiliar with the MSP industry, the learning curve is steep, and requires a high aptitude for and commitment to learning.
Be able to review, interpret and synthesize information and appropriately take action, per CMS or Medivest guidelines.
Preferred candidates will possess and/or be able to demonstrate through their work history:
Experience with or an understanding of Medicare Set-Asides allocations, Medicare Set-Aside Professional Administration, Medicare regulations and procedures including, but not limited to, the Medicare Secondary Payer Statute.
Experience with or an understanding of the workers- compensation and general liability insurance claims industry.
Experience with or an understanding of medical coding and/or medical claims processing.
Basic accounting concepts and best practices.
Bilingual (Spanish and English)
